.Yesteryear Malayalam actress Kumari Thankam died at her residence in Shenoy Nagar,Chennai on Tuesday morning.She was 80. A native of Poojapura in Thiruvananthapuram ,she married producer late P.K Sathyapalan and settled in Chennai.
She entered film in 1950s and acted in more than 20 films as heroine and supporting actress. Brother of Lalitha-Padmini-Ragini trio. The body was cremated at Anna Nagar crematorium on Tuesday evening. The late S. Padmanabhan, the late S. Jayapal and Asha are children. Thiramala (1953), Loka Neethi (1953), Avan Varunnu, Balyakala Sakhi (1954), Kidappadam, CID, Aniyathi (1955) Manthravaadhi, Koodapirappu (1956), Achanum Makanum and Minnunnathellam Ponnalla (1957) are some of her films.
