There was a special show arranged for Suresh Gopi’s latest film ‘Raama Ravanan’ in Chennai recently. It was attended by the Director Biju Vattapa, Producer Mohammad Rafeeq and Suresh Gopi.

They were welcomed in traditional style with a shawl by the PR offficers. PRO President Vijaya Murali appreciated Suresh Gopi and Mollywood brethrens for refusing IIFA event in Sri Lanka to show solidarity with Kollywood.

PRO Union Secretary Peru Thulasi Palanivel, Vice President Madurai Selvam, Ramdoss joint Secretary Govindaraj and Glamour Satya were also present at the special screening.

The movie based on a novel ‘Manomi’ by Madhavi Kutty features Suresh Gopi in the role of a Lankan Tamil rebel Thiruchelvan who falls in love with a Sinhalese girl.

On Tuesday, while addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, society president Poykamukku Hari announced that the actor has been chosen for the award for his contribution to Malayalam films. Uthradam Tirunal Marthanda Varma, chief of the ruling family of erstwhile Travancore, will present the award to Thilakan at a function at Attingal on Saturday.

Recently, there were a lot of controversies about the expulsion of the actor from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA).

His removal from AMMA, has another controversial background. The actor was reportedly excluded from the movie Christian Brothers by the producer in February 2010. It is said that the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) directed the producer to do so. His acting in a film of the director Vinayan, led to his expulsion from the film. It is because Vinayan was the head of the rival association named Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA).

While sharing her thoughts about her films, she said “I am getting married soon. I will continue to act in films even after marriage if I get good stories. People are commenting about me playing the role of a mother to Nayantara in the film Electra. The director of the film Shyamaprasad is a talented person. I have accepted this role because of the respect I have for him. There is nothing wrong in it. My character has significance. If the director is good I don’t mind doing any kind of roles.

“Acting as Dhanush’s mother-in-law in the film Mappillai was an unforgettable experience. I am the vamp in this film. In real I am not that kind of a person. Suraj Venjarammoodu, the most popular comedian in Malayalam cinema is once again turning hero after the average hit Duplicate.

His new film has been titled Female Unnikrishnan, which itself is sure to raise the laughs.

The film is directed by KB Madhu who last made Shambu with Vijayakumar. The film also has Salim Kumar, Jagadeesh, Manianpillai Raju, and Bijukuttan. The hunt for the heroine has started, for this comedy caper.

He has decided that the scripts of his film have repeatedly failed him, and hence would be scripting his new film himself.

Titled ‘Police Commissioner’, the film would have Suresh Gopi playing Commissioner Bhagat Nambiar investigating into a murder mystery that has a close resemblance to the Muthoot Paul muder case.

Incidentally B Unnikrishnan would also be investigating into the case through his film ‘The Thriller’ that would also be going on the floors shortly. However Shaji seems unperturbed with this.

‘Police Commissioner’ would be produced by M Mani under the banner of Sunita Productions.

Adoor Bhavani ( 1927-2009) is an Indian actress in Malayalam movies. best-known appearance was in the national award winning film Chemmeen, directed by Ramu Kariat. She also performed in Mudiyanaya Puthran and Thulabharam. She is from from Adoor in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state. Her sister, Adoor Pankajam, is also a Malayalam film actress.

In 1969 Bhavani won the Kerala state film award for the second best actress. She was awarded the Chalachithra Saparya Lifetime Achievement award by Mathrubhumi-Medimix in 2002.In 2008, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy honoured Bhavani and Pankajam for their overall contributions to theatre and drama
