Mammootty’s first project under his production house Playhouse will begin by producing Mathilukalkkappuram, a sequel to the national award winning Malayalam movie Mathilukal, which was directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan in 1989.The film is an adaptation of the novel titled ‘Mathilukal’ by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer.
Mammootty starred in the earlier movie and he will also be seen in the sequel.Nayantara will be the heroine and she is set to play the role of a woman prisoner in it.Oscar winner Resul Pookutty would handle the sound and camera will be handled by Ravi K.Chandran.Debutante director Prasad Valacherry will be the director of the movie.
