Before the gala of The Kochi International Fashion Week comes to an end, here comes an opportunity for the young and beautiful Malayali girls to exhibit their beauty and talent… The Hair-Omax Miss Kerala 2011 beauty contest which happens this month is gonna shake the city again…!!!
Harish Babu, managing director of Impressario Event Management India Limited, the producers of the pageant said recently that, “Through Miss Kerala contest, we are aiming to find a global ambassador of Kerala youth, one whose ambitions and aspirations match with that of the current young generation with all its fortitude.”
It was in 1999 the Miss Kerala contest was launched, to provide a floor for the Malayali girls to showcase their beauty and spark. Now it is 2011 and 12 years from the starting line…! Out of more than 2000 applicants, not less than 300 beauty queens have ramp the final rounds, throughout these years.
Girls, who are of 18-24 years old and with height more than 5.2”, are eligible for the contest. Also there is a condition that at least one of the parents of the applicant should be of Kerala origin. Twenty-two girls will be short listed from the entries for the final contest. Well, if you think you are an applicant, you can try your luck next year… Because the last date of entry for this year’s contest was July 25.
The public also participated in selecting the contestants for the preliminary, which was held on August 13. They vote for their favorite contestant on the facebook… Found it democratic, ha…? Well, get ready for the grand finale…! Who will be The Hair-Omax Miss Kerala this year…? All are excited…!
