Malayalam film Akashadoothu was released in 1993.The movie was directed by Sibi Malayil and written by Dennis Joseph, with actress Madhavi and Bharat Murali in the lead roles. Akashadoothu was one of the most influential melodramas of the nineties, the film tells the tale of a widow suffering from leukemia. It won the National Film Award for Best Film on Family Welfare.
Now Evergreen green film Akashadoothu will got a sequel. But it won’t be on big screen, Surya TV will telecast it as a serial.The serial is about the children who was thrown to different family due to the death of parents (Akashadoothu).The serial is written by Santhosh Echikkanam, directed by Aadithyan and produced by M Ranjith under the banner Rajaputra Visual Media.
Narration of the story takes place from the life of Monu the younger child who lost all his childhood memories. Chippy gives the birth to the elder character Meenu. The others were Prem Prakash, Aadithyan, Yathikumar, Manoj Pillai, Ranjini Krishna, Karthika, Mangamahesh etc.
