The 58th National Film Awards 2010 Winners

The 58th National Film Awards for 2010 were announced in New Delhi on Thursday (19/5.2011).

Malayalam film ‘Adamante Makan Abu’ won the National Award for best film, while Tamil actor Dhanush and Malayalam actor Salim Kumar shared the best actor award for their performances in ‘Adaminde Makan Abu’ and ‘Aadukalam’respectively.

Seven Malayalam films, including Pranchiyettan & the Saint, Makaramanju, Gaddama, Veetilekkulla Vazhi, Athmakatha and Adaminte Makan Abu, were nominated for this year’s National Film Awards.

Arunima Sharma received the best director award. Marathi actress Mitalee Jagtap Paradhar won the National Award (best actress) for her performance in Baboo Band Baaja. She shared the award with Saranya Pirivannan, while Salman Khan starrer Dabangg was named the Wholesome Entertainer of the Year. Veteran film maker K. Balachander was chosen for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2010.

Best Investigative Film: K R Manoj’s ‘A Pestering Journey’ on Endosulfan victims

Best special effects: – Enthiran, Robot

Best Actor: Salim Kumar for Adaminte Makan Abu and Dhanush for Aadukalam

Best Actress: Marathi actress Mitalee Jagtap Paradhar and Tamil actress Saranya

Best irector: Vetrimaaran for ‘Aadukalam’

Best Supporting Actress: Malayalam actress Sukumari

Best Male Playback Singer: Suresh Wadkar

Best Female Playback Singer: Rekha Bhardwaj for Ishqiya

Best Music: Vishal Bharadwaj for Ishqiya

Best audiography location sound recordist: Kamod Karade (Ishqiya)

Best re-recordist of the final mixed track: Debajit Changmai

Best cinematographer: Madhu Ambattu has won award for Adaminte Makan Abu.

Best production design: Sabu Cyril for Enthiran

Special jury award: Mee Sindhutai Sakpal
